CORONAVIRUS: Global Cases Record 21% Recovery

As the number of coronavirus cases hit over 1 million globally, the world has also recorded 21% recovery so far.

According to the official updated figures by world meters, a total of 1,00,800 people across the world have been infected by a coronavirus, while 210,200 people have, however, recovered from the virus.

204 countries and territories of the world have been hit by the virus since the first cases began in Wuhan China with at least 51,300 deaths.

Italy and Spain have recorded the highest number of deaths. Italy so far has recorded 14,000 deaths, while Spain has 10, deaths.

United States of America records the highest number of COVID-19 infection of about 235,700 cases, followed by China, Italy, and Spain.

The World Health organization has earlier expressed fear over the increasing number of coronavirus pandemic cases which is a few numbers to one million.

The Director-General of WHO, Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, expressed heavy concern as several countries have now been hit by the pandemic along with an increasing number of death toll globally.

Ghebreyesus said:

“As we enter the fourth month since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, I’m deeply concerned about the rapid escalation and global spread of infection,” he said.

“Over the past five weeks, we have witnessed a near exponential growth in the number of new cases reaching almost every country, territory, and area,”

“RhenumberbI number of deaths has more than doubled in the past week. In the next few days, we will reach 1 million confirmed cases and 50,000 deaths.”
