According to Babafemi, the students, one of whom is pursuing a PhD, could have faced jail time if the NDLEA had not intervened to ensure the owner of the luggage was identified and returned home on the next flight. This incident underscores the importance of being cautious about accepting responsibility for luggage of unknown contents.
Additionally, Babafemi highlighted a video showing how bags of opioids were concealed among spare parts being transported from Onitsha to Mubi in Adamawa, further emphasizing the agency’s efforts to combat drug trafficking and the need for vigilance among travelers.
