Wolves manager reacts to Pochettino’s departure

Wolves manager Gary O’Neil has commented on Mauricio Pochettino’s unexpected departure from Chelsea, expressing optimism about the Blues’ prospects for the next season.

Pochettino, who managed Chelsea during the 2023-24 season and secured a sixth-place finish, parted ways with the club on Tuesday. Reports suggest the separation was amicable with no hard feelings.

O’Neil was surprised by Pochettino’s exit but acknowledged the solid foundation the Argentine had established. He believes Chelsea will do well under new management next season.

In an interview with Sky Sports, O’Neil said, “Managing Chelsea was a tough job, considering the large number of new players and the challenge of uniting them. Pochettino did a commendable job. Chelsea is a great club, one of the biggest in London. I’m confident they’ll find a good replacement and be very strong next year.”
