Atalanta winger, Ademola Lookman described the 3-0 victory over Bayer Leverkusen in the Europa League final on Wednesday as one of the most memorable moments of his life.
Lookman netted twice in the first half and once in the second, leading Atalanta to become the first Serie A team to claim the title. The triumph also put an end to Leverkusen’s 51-game unbeaten streak in remarkable fashion.
Reflecting on the victory in an interview with TNT Sports, Lookman expressed his elation, stating, “This is truly one of the greatest nights of my life. The team delivered an incredible performance, and winning feels amazing. There’s not much more to say except that it’s fantastic.”
He also acknowledged the significance of the win, particularly after experiencing disappointment in previous final attempts this season. “They say third time’s the charm, and it certainly feels that way for us today,” Lookman added.
“I’m just thrilled that we emerged victorious. It’s a very satisfying moment for us.”
