Finidi George has resigned as head coach of the Super Eagles.
He made this decision on Saturday, following the Nigeria Football Federation’s (NFF) announcement of plans to hire a foreign technical adviser.
The resignation was confirmed by former Eagles media officer, Toyin Ibitoye, on his X account.
Ibitoye posted: “News just in: Finidi George @FinidiGeorge_FG has resigned from his @NGSuperEagles manager position.”
Finidi, who took over the role on April 29, 2024, replacing Jose Peseiro, whose contract ended in February, had a brief tenure. He managed a 1-1 draw against South Africa and a 2-1 loss to Benin Republic in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers.
