We are not leaving Nigeria – Guiness

Guinness Nigeria Plc. has refuted claims that it plans to leave the Nigerian market following Diageo’s sale of its majority stake.

In a statement, Guinness Nigeria, which has been operating in the country since 1950, addressed the false rumors suggesting an exit. The company confirmed that it remains dedicated to its Nigerian operations and is gearing up for a new phase of growth and innovation.

Last week, Guinness Nigeria struck a deal with the Singapore-based Tolaram Group to purchase a 58 percent stake, while Diageo will continue to own the Guinness brand, licensing it to Guinness Nigeria over the long term.

Guinness Nigeria emphasized its strong commitment to Nigeria, highlighted by significant investments in infrastructure, employment, backward integration, and community development initiatives.

The company assured that the partnership with Tolaram Group reaffirms its dedication to the Nigerian market, with no plans to leave. Additionally, the business will continue without any negative impact on jobs or factories due to the new partnership.
