WWE legend, John Cena has announced his retirement date from in-ring competition. Speaking at WWE Money in the Bank in Toronto, Canada, the 16-time world champion revealed that he plans to retire in 2025. Cena specified that the 2025 Royal Rumble, Elimination Chamber, and WrestleMania 41 in Las Vegas will be his final events.
Wearing a shirt that read ‘John Cena Farewell Tour 2025,’ he said, “I’ve been with WWE for over two decades. In that time, I’ve witnessed incredible prosperity like we have now, with WWE being the hottest ticket in town. But I’ve also experienced tough times when no one knows your name, no one wants to be your friend, and only the most dedicated and hardcore fans stick by your side.”
He also expressed his desire to be involved when Raw transitions to Netflix in January.
Cena debuted in WWE in 2002, but since 2018, he has taken on a more part-time role to focus on his movie career.
