Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s 2023 presidential candidate, expressed his support for Aliko Dangote, the founder of Dangote Refinery, affirming that Dangote made the right choice by investing in Nigeria. Obi reassured Dangote of his strength to overcome the challenges he faces.
Recently, Dangote accused the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited of obstructing his refinery’s operations and mentioned that some friends mocked him for establishing his refinery in Nigeria. In response, Obi highlighted that serving humanity often comes with challenges.
Obi shared on X, “Alhaji Dangote, your friend is wrong. You made the right decision by investing in Nigeria’s growth and development through your businesses, despite the challenges you face. God knows you are strong enough to overcome these obstacles and contribute to a better humanity. I have faced similar losses and challenges since joining public service, including harassment from the government. However, I believe God has empowered us to bring positive change and illuminate the dark areas of our nation. Stay resilient, not for material gains, but for the development of our nation and humanity.”
Obi emphasized that both he and Dangote endure these challenges to contribute to the country’s progress and urged Dangote to remain steadfast in his efforts.
