Real Madrid manager, Carlo Ancelotti, plans to return to his preferred 4-3-3 formation for the upcoming season, as reported by AS.
Ancelotti is set to field an attacking trio consisting of Kylian Mbappé, Rodrygo Goes, and Vinícius Júnior.
Initially, it seemed that Rodrygo might lose his spot in the lineup following Mbappé’s arrival, and he was even linked with a possible move away from the Bernabeu, with Manchester City showing interest.
However, both Ancelotti and the club have assured the Brazilian forward that he will have a key role in the team’s attack. Rodrygo is expected to play on the right wing, while Mbappé will be positioned centrally, and Vinícius Júnior will take up his usual spot on the left.
Real Madrid will kick off their season with the UEFA Super Cup match against Atalanta next Wednesday, followed by their league opener against Mallorca on Sunday.
