Manchester United manager, Erik ten Hag has addressed the club’s recent signings of former Ajax players.
Ten Hag clarified that he did not specifically request players he had previously worked with. Matthijs de Ligt and Noussair Mazraoui are the latest of his former Ajax players to join United, arriving from Bayern Munich this week.
United has also signed Lisandro Martínez, Antony, and André Onana since Ten Hag took charge.
Ten Hag explained on Thursday that the decisions to sign these players were not solely his, stating, “These are club decisions, not just mine. They are always supported or even initiated by scouting, recruitment, the technical director, and the sporting director.”
He added that these decisions involve multiple factors, including financial considerations, and that the players’ personalities and qualities must align with the club’s needs.
