Popular media personality and content creator, GehGeh, recently expressed his view that modern Nigerian women see relationships as a form of employment.
He argued that men should stop marrying, claiming that women use marriage as a tactic to get men to spend their money.
GehGeh, an Urhobo man, explained that in his father’s time, marriage worked differently, with women working for men. Men were seen as the authority, often with multiple wives who took care of the farm and provided for the family, while the man handled leadership and protection.
However, GehGeh feels this dynamic has changed, criticizing Nigerian women for dating with financial expectations.
He believes that many women now view relationships as an opportunity for their partners to cover their expenses, and he expressed that he is not interested in such a scenario.
He shared these thoughts during a recent episode of The Honest Bunch podcast, where he discussed how marriage was once seen as a mutual partnership, with women being providers and submitting to their husbands’ authority.
