Several Boko Haram militants who launched an attack on Chad’s presidential palace in N’Djamena on Wednesday were neutralized by the country’s Directorate General of Security Services and Internal Exile (DGSSIE).
The attack was quickly contained by Chadian security forces, and the situation is now under control.
According to security analyst Zagazola Makama, intelligence sources confirmed the deaths, and a video circulating online shows the attackers being fired upon by responding forces, with some captured alive.
Makama praised the DGSSIE for efficiently neutralizing the threat and ensuring the protection of government institutions and key personnel. Although Chadian authorities have not released information about casualties, reports suggest that some of the attackers were apprehended, which could provide crucial intelligence for future operations.
To bolster security, the government recently disabled networks to prevent any potential security breaches.
