The South East Senate Caucus has expressed its support and congratulations to Senator Azuta Mbata on his election as the President General of Ohaneze Ndigbo Worldwide.
In a statement issued in Abuja on Saturday, the leader of the Caucus, Senator Enyinnaya Abaribe, highlighted that Senator Mbata’s victory at the Ohaneze General Assembly in Enugu represents a significant moment in the history of the influential Igbo socio-cultural group.
The Caucus expressed strong confidence in Senator Mbata’s leadership and qualifications, believing that his leadership would unite and develop Igboland while fostering positive relationships with similar groups outside Igboland to strengthen national unity.
They are hopeful that under Mbata’s leadership, Ohaneze will unite the Igbo people, promote peace, and become a powerful voice for Ndigbo worldwide.

The Caucus also praised the delegates at the general assembly and the political leadership, particularly the state governors, for their ongoing support of the new leadership. Additionally, they commended the outgoing President General, Nze Ozichukwu, for overseeing a peaceful transition of power to Senator Mbata.
Finally, the Caucus called on all Ndigbo to fully support Senator Mbata and his team in their efforts to restore the dignity and prosperity of Alaigbo.
