Adamu Garba, a prominent APC chieftain and former presidential hopeful, has forcefully confirmed explosive allegations that USAID is covertly funding terrorist groups such as Boko Haram and ISWAP. In a fiery video posted on his X page, Garba questioned how USAID could have disbursed a staggering $824 million in Nigeria last year, insinuating that these funds were misappropriated to arm terror outfits.
Garba’s incendiary claims echo those of Pennsylvania Republican lawmaker Scot Perry, who asserted that USAID funneled $697 million in aid to Boko Haram, ISIS, and Al-Qaeda, while also questioning the absence of any record of $136 million being used to build 120 schools in Pakistan.
In his impassioned address during the session titled “The War on Waste: Stamping Out the Scourge of Improper Payments and Fraud,” Garba charged that clandestine foreign operators are behind the supply of weapons to these militant groups. He lamented that, in a nation where $824 million translates to approximately N1.3 trillion—an amount that could allocate up to N36 billion per state—the funds were instead fueling terrorism and criminal kidnappings, undermining essential development.
Garba concluded with a resolute declaration: as global corruption scandals come to light, further revelations implicating African elites colluding with criminals will surface, ultimately paving the way for reclaiming and rejuvenating the continent for its people and future prosperity.
