Frank’s impassioned pronouncement arrives on the heels of former military president General Ibrahim Babangida’s own candid admission of the election’s legitimate outcome. During the public unveiling of his book, A Journey in Service, Babangida attributed the annulment to the machinations of General Sani Abacha and other nefarious forces, conceding that MKO Abiola had indeed won.
Frank asserts that Tinubu, a key figure in the June 12 struggle, must not delay any longer. He should spearhead the process by submitting a bill to the National Assembly to legally validate the election results and accord Abiola all the honors and privileges befitting a former President. This, Frank contends, is not merely a political formality—it is a resolute rectification of history.
