Air Peace, Nigeria’s leading airline, has pledged to repatriate Nigerian girls who were trafficked to Ivory Coast, providing free flights, medical care, and support services. This initiative follows public outcry over the plight of underaged Nigerian girls trafficked to Ivory Coast, as highlighted by activist VeryDarkMan.
In a press statement, Air Peace Chairman Allen Onyema condemned the trafficking of young girls, calling it “inhumane and callous.” He announced that the airline would offer free flights to bring the trafficked girls back to Nigeria and provide them with medical examinations and treatment at Duchess International Hospital in Ikeja.
Onyema urged the Nigerian Embassy in Côte d’Ivoire to identify and assemble the victims for swift transportation. He also appealed to the Federal Government to take full responsibility for the victims’ rehabilitation and education.
This commitment by Air Peace underscores the urgent need for collaborative efforts to combat human trafficking and support its victims.
