Businessman and former senator Ben Murray-Bruce has officially defected from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC), citing confidence in President Bola Tinubu’s economic and governance reforms.
Murray-Bruce, who represented Bayelsa East Senatorial District in the 8th National Assembly, announced his defection in Abuja, describing the APC as a “party of progress and bold ideas.” He praised Tinubu’s policies on industrialization, digital economy, and foreign investment, saying they reflect “the courage and innovation Nigeria needs at this critical time.”
He also urged Nigerians to support the administration’s ongoing reforms, adding that political unity was essential for sustained national development. His move marks another high-profile defection ahead of the 2026 general elections.
