The Nigerian Basketball Federation (NBBF) has announced that Port Harcourt will host the 2025 Men’s Premier Basketball League Finals, marking the city’s first time staging the championship in over a decade.
According to the NBBF, the decision reflects Port Harcourt’s improved sporting infrastructure and growing reputation as a hub for major national events. The finals are expected to attract top teams from across the country, with matches set to hold at the newly upgraded Sharks Arena.
NBBF President Musa Kida said the choice of venue aligns with the federation’s goal of decentralizing the sport and promoting basketball development across different regions.
The championship is scheduled to take place in August 2025, with fan engagement activities and youth clinics planned alongside the main tournament.
