In a significant political development, the Lagos State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has unanimously endorsed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for a second term in the 2027 general elections. The endorsement occurred during the APC Stakeholders’ Forum 2025, held on Tuesday at Eko Hotels and Suites, Victoria Island.
The event was attended by key figures including Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, former Governors Babatunde Fashola and Akinwunmi Ambode, Deputy Governor Dr. Obafemi Hamzat, Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly Mudashiru Obasa, and members of the National Assembly. The motion for Tinubu’s endorsement was moved by the Ayangburen of Ikorodu, Oba Kabiru Shotobi, and seconded by Speaker Obasa.
Governor Sanwo-Olu emphasized that President Tinubu has delivered significantly on his campaign promises, noting that Lagos APC was united in its call for his re-election. He stated, “As loyal members of the APC family in Lagos, we endorse Asiwaju Tinubu for a second term. His courageous reforms and vision for national transformation have repositioned Nigeria for progress.”
In conjunction with the endorsement, the party unveiled voter mobilisation incentives aimed at encouraging increased voter participation in the upcoming elections. These initiatives are part of the APC’s broader strategy to ensure a high voter turnout and secure a victory in the 2027 general elections.
This unified support from Lagos APC leaders underscores the state’s pivotal role in President Tinubu’s political base and sets the stage for a concerted campaign effort leading up to the 2027 elections.
