Eight months after the Attorney General of the Federation (AGF) directed payment, the Energy Commission of Nigeria (ECN) has reportedly failed to settle a ₦157 million Supreme Court judgment debt owed to PSC Industries Limited and OGB-Tech Limited, sparking growing frustration among the affected firms.
The dispute stems from a protracted contractual disagreement dating back several years, which was resolved by the Supreme Court in favour of the two companies. Despite the AGF’s formal communication ordering compliance with the ruling, ECN has allegedly stalled on payment, citing budgetary constraints.
Legal representatives for the firms have condemned the delay as a “flagrant disregard for judicial authority,” urging the presidency and relevant oversight bodies to enforce compliance and protect the integrity of the court’s decision. Neither the ECN nor the AGF’s office has publicly commented on the latest development.
