The President of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari has relieved the central bank governor of the federation Godwin Emefiele of his post.
This came days after the former governor lost the suit against the electoral body of the federation and attorney general of the federation in a bid to pursue his presidential aspiration. Many believed that it is wrong for the sitting CBN governor to contest for a political position stating he has to resign to contest for any political post.
Man reasons which are yet to be known have resulted in the suspension of the Godwin Emefiele, popularly and evidently naira has dropped drastically to $1=N610 under the watchful eye of Godwin Emefiel which isn’t so watchful after all bringing into question his competence.
Amidst all these, he had the effrontery to pursue his presidential aspiration by purchasing the presidential ticket which cost a whooping sum of N100,000,000, and also purchased vehicles for his political campaign despite his glaring failure as Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria.
It is yet to be known if he will be reinstated because by law the president can only suspend the CBN governor pending the time house of assembly accept and approve the removal of the CBN governor.
