Sanwo-Olu to increase Salary of Civil Servants

Governor of Lagos State, Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu,  said he had concluded plans of upward review of the salaries of its workforce by the end of this month.

The Governor said this while addressing public servants during a working visit to the Secretariat Alausa, noting that the planned salary increase was in view of the current inflation in the country while commending the workforce for their support, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic.

He also approved a 25 percent increase in core establishment duty allowance while announcing that before the end of the month the first phase of 100 vehicles for directors in the public service would be delivered. The governor, accompanied by some of his cabinet members and the Head of Service, Hakeem Muri-Okunola, said his administration was committed to improving the welfare of workers and the prompt payment of pensions to retirees in the civil service.

Speaking earlier, the Head of Service, thanked the Governor for fulfilling his promises during his first working visit to the secretariat, urging him to address further some issues that had to do with the environment, allowances, and provision of more staff buses among others.
